Which clips and fixings do I need to install Hochiki linear heat detection cable?
Hochiki linear heat detection cable is fixed with stainless steel L-brackets, knock-on clips or protective sleeves chosen for the surface it runs on.
Direct answer
Hochiki linear heat detection cable (LHDC) is available as resettable analogue cable (700-001 range) and non-resettable digital cable (700-070, 700-090 and 700-180 ranges). Each zone needs the cable, an end-of-line device and a monitor such as the LDM-519-DIM-28 or LDM-621-DDL; the analogue and digital types use different monitors and end-of-line devices. Fixings (stainless steel L-brackets, knock-on clips and protective sleeves) are chosen for the surface the cable runs on.

What is Hochiki LHDC used for?
Typical applications include cable tunnels and trays, road and rail tunnels, conveyors, storage tanks and commercial solar arrays. Choose a cable whose alarm temperature suits the normal ambient temperature of the area.
How are LHDC accessories and fixings chosen?
Hochiki supplies clips and fixings for its linear heat detection cable (LHDC), including stainless steel L-brackets, knock-on clips and protective sleeves. The right fixing depends on the surface and route: for example, on solar arrays the cable is secured to the horizontal supports behind the panels, and on storage tanks it is usually fixed to the tank surface with a suitable adhesive. Junction boxes (700-523) and an end-of-line device (700-517) are also part of every LHDC zone.
Can LHDC be installed in a hazardous area?
In a hazardous area, LHDC must be connected through a certified intrinsically safe barrier, with the barrier and the monitor located in the safe area. See Application Note 210.
