Hochiki's Life Safety System Achieves BOSEC Accreditation

Global leaders in life safety manufacturing and design, Hochiki, have achieved BOSEC approval for their life safety system incorporating their ESP addressable fire detection devices and their Latitude fire alarm control panel. 

Hochiki’s ESP (Enhanced System Protocol) Range and the Latitude CIE are already EN 54 Part 13 certified, however with this additional certification in place it provides fire system designers and engineers in the Belgium region, as well as bordering countries Luxemburg, the Netherlands and Germany, greater choice of fire detection products and systems to choose from.

What is BOSEC?

BOSEC is the quality benchmark for fire protection in Belgium managed and controlled by ANPI, a non-profit association founded on the initiative of Belgian insurance companies.  The Members of ANPI are all industrial federations and professional associations concerned with the prevention of fires and thefts. Various public authorities are also represented within the group. 

The BOSEC accreditation is one of Europe’s highest quality marks requiring brands to undergo stringent and lengthy approval processes.

It covers products for passive fire prevention and active fire prevention, as well as those organisations who work within the fire industry, such as installers and system designers.

Powerful and Reliable

The Modular approach to the Latitude range starts with the panel enclosure, various sizes and depths are available.

The panel can accommodate between 2 and 16 loops, depending on enclosure and number of loop cards fitted.

Additional elements such as Zone LED cards, power supplies, key switches and printer can also be added.

Peripherals

The Dual Loop Module provides two addressable loops, up to 4 Dual Loop Modules can be fitted to 2 to 8 loop versions of the panel and up to 8 Dual Loop Modules can be fitted to 2 to 16 loop versions.  The module monitors loop device status and provides status to the LCD Main Processor Board. It communicates with all other parts of the panel to maintain the integrity of alarm and fault functions and EN54-2 requirements.
The Network Card provides supervised, enhanced high-speed network communication between Latitude panels, utilising two full Duplex RS485 outputs, one for networking of Latitude Panels and one for interfacing to Schraner fire brigade equipment to support the German market.
The Latitude Vision Network Repeater allows a full display and optional control of the Latitude fire alarm control panel from a small and unobtrusive local control station.
The Media Gateway Card is a communication device which facilitates seamless integration between Latitude and other products such as the Lati-View graphics software system, Virtual Resource and the Vizu-Linx Alarm Management Solution.

Addressable, World-Renowned Fire Detection 

Hochiki’s ESP Intelligent range of automatic fire detection and alarm equipment is designed and manufactured to the highest international standards, offering life safety products and systems of incomparable reliability. Sensors

Addressable Multi Sensor with CO detection
 
An addressable loop-powered multi-sensor, with smoke, heat and CO sensing elements.  The unit offers 24 different modes of operation* and seamlessly matches the other sensors in the ESP Range. The CO sensing element can be used to detect smoke as well as life-threatening CO levels (acting as a CO alarm).
 
Available in white, ivory or black casing.

Addressable Optical Smoke Sensor

An Intelligent Photoelectric Smoke Sensor incorporating Hochiki’s unique High Performance Chamber which allows the sensor threshold level to be increased, thereby improving the signal to noise ratio and reducing susceptibility to false alarms.

Also available with an integrated SCI and in white, ivory or black casing.

Addressable Heat Sensor
An Intelligent Multi-Heat Sensor incorporating a variable Fixed Temperature heat element and Rate Of Rise heat element, both controlled from the Control Panel allowing either thermal element or both elements simultaneously to be active in making the fire decision.
 
Also available with an integrated SCI and in white, ivory or black casing.

Addressable Multi-Sensor

An Intelligent Multi Sensor incorporating a thermal element and a High Performance photoelectric smoke chamber. Has three modes controlled from the Control Panel, allowing either the optical or thermal element or both to be active in making the fire decision.

Addressable Ceiling VAD

An intelligent loop-powered Ceiling Beacon VAD, with a high-intensity LED and a custom designed free-form optic which produce a highly visible flash. Variants available in 5m, 7.5m, 10m and 15m area coverage.
 
Available in white, ivory or red casing and red or white LEDs.

Addressable Wall VAD

An intelligent loop-powered Wall Beacon VAD with a high intensity LED and a custom designed free-form optic which produces a highly visible flash. Variants available in 5m, 7.5m and 10m area coverage.
 
Available in red, white or ivory casing and red or white LEDs.

Addressable Wall Sounder

An intelligent loop-powered Wall Sounder providing 8 volume levels and 51 EN 54-3 approved tones with a maximum output of up to 102 dB(A) (±2 dB(A)) with low current consumption.

Addressable Wall Sounder/Beacon

An Intelligent Loop-Powered Wall Sounder Beacon providing 8 volume levels and 51 EN 54-3 approved tones as per the CHQ-WS2.  Also features an integral beacon within the horn which utilises high intensity LED technology with a variable flash frequency.

Addressable Base Sounder/Beacon

An intelligent, loop-powered sensor base featuring a sounder and beacon, providing 13 volume levels and 51 EN 54-3 approved tones with a maximum output of up to 98 dB(A) (±2 dB(A)) with low current consumption.

Addressable Dual Input Module

An intelligent Dual Input Module designed to interface to a variety of inputs such as door contacts, sprinkler flow/door switches and plant equipment. Also available as a DIN Rail mountable version. Both models feature an integral short-circuit isolator.

Addressable Dual Relay Controller

An intelligent Dual Relay Controller designed to provide two general-purpose relay outputs, each output can be controlled independently and used to control dampers, plant and equipment shut-down. The monitored input can be used for local power supply fault monitoring or as a general-purpose input. Also available as a DIN Rail mountable version. Both models feature an integral short-circuit isolator.

Addressable Sounder Controller

An intelligent Dual Sounder Controller which has been designed to provide two sounder outputs (that can be driven separately) with full fault monitoring. The monitored input can be used for local power supply fault monitoring or as a general-purpose input. Also available as a DIN Rail mountable version. Both models feature an integral short-circuit isolator.

Addressable Dual Zone Monitor

An intelligent Dual Zone Module designed to allow up to 60 conventional detectors (30 per zone) or up to 6 SPC-ET beam detectors (3 per zone) to be interfaced to Hochiki’s ESP analogue addressable system. The unit also features Schottky and Zener line continuity options.  Also available as a DIN Rail mountable version. Both models feature an integral short-circuit isolator.

Addressable Dual Input Module

An intelligent dual 4-20 mA input module designed to interface to equipment with 4-20 mA outputs such as Gas Detectors, Flame Detectors and industrial equipment. Also available as a DIN Rail mountable version. A back box is also available (CHQ-BACKBOX) which, when used in conjunction with the CHQ-FTM, increases the IP rating to IP65.

Addressable Mains Relay Controller

An Intelligent Mains Relay Controller providing a single mains rated relay output for the control of such devices as dampers, extractors or plant and equipment shut-down. The monitored input can be used for local power supply fault monitoring or as a general-purpose input. Also available as a DIN Rail mountable version. Both models feature an integral short-circuit isolator.

Addressable Plant Control Module

A Plant Control Module with four independent change-over relay outputs, with N/O and N/C volt free contacts and four inputs.  These outputs can be driven separately by the fire alarm control panel and can be used for the control of devices such as dampers or for plant and equipment shut-down. Also available as a DIN Rail mountable version.  Both models feature an integral short-circuit isolator.

Addressable Single Zone Monitor

An intelligent Single Zone Monitor designed to allow up to 6 conventional detectors or 1 SPC-ET beam detector to be interfaced to Hochiki’s ESP analogue addressable system. Also available as a DIN Rail mountable version. Both models feature an integral short-circuit isolator.

Addressable Manual Call Point

An intelligent Manual Call Point fully compatible with Hochiki’s ESP analogue addressable protocol and featuring an integral
short-circuit isolator (SCI).  Features a bi-coloured LED to indicate either fire (red) or short-circuit (amber). Also features plug-in wiring terminals for easy installation.

Call Point

An Intelligent IP67 Weatherproof Manual Call Point Isolator fully compatible with Hochiki’s ESP analogue addressable protocol and featuring an integral short-circuit isolator (SCI). Features a bi-coloured LED to indicate either fire (red) or short-circuit (amber). Also features plug-in wiring terminals for easy installation.

BOSEC Certified for Belgium

Previously, Hochiki products achieved BOSEC approval through a regional third-party but with this brand new certification, Hochiki Europe can now offer its own complete fire detection system as BOSEC approved.

Installers within Belgium can rest assured that they can now specify Hochiki in new projects as well as update any existing fire detection systems, and know that Hochiki is now one of the best within their market.
