How to read product serial numbers and batch codes?

To support product traceability and help determine warranty status, products containing electronic components are identified by either a serial number or a batch number. These numbers appear on the product label of all main line products containing electronic components.

To give us traceability and enable us to establish warranty status on our products, we identify them with a serial number or batch number. These numbers appear on the product label of all main line products containing electronic components.

Serial Number consists of nine numbers (e.g. 012400697)

 

 

Digits Description
First digit

The year of manufacture (e.g. 0 = 2000)

Second and third digits

The month (e.g. 12 = December)

Fourth digit

The place of manufacture:

1 & 2 = Hochiki Corporation Japan

3 = Hochiki Corporation America

4 = Hochiki Europe

9 = BOSCH China

Next five digits

The unique serial number

Batch Number consists of four numbers (e.g. 0124)

First digit: The year of manufacture (e.g. 0 = 2000, 2010, 2020)

Second and third digits: The month (e.g. 12 = December)

Fourth digit: The place of manufacture:

  •  1 & 2 = Hochiki Corporation Japan

  • 3 = Hochiki Corporation America

  • 4 = Hochiki Europe

  • 9 = BOSCH China


Emergency Lighting Battery Batch Codes

The EL Battery Batch codes show the date of Manufacture Year and Week.

Date Code example - 2118

21 is the Manufacture Year 2021

18 is the Manufacture Week (01st week - 52nd week)

Barcode example - 211800001

000001 is the serial number (00001 - 99999)
